5.4 Return of company property

The return of company property is essential for the efficient operation of our organization and the protection of company assets. We appreciate your cooperation in ensuring the timely and responsible return of all company property.

5.4.1 Company Property Definition

Company property includes any items, materials, or equipment provided to employees by the company to perform their job duties effectively. This may include, but is not limited to:

  • Electronic devices (desktops, laptops, smartphones, tablets).

  • Office equipment and supplies.

  • Keys, access cards, or security badges.

  • Any proprietary or confidential information.

5.4.2 Return of Company Property

Employees are required to return all company property upon:

  • Resignation from employment.

  • Termination of employment.

  • The completion of a temporary assignment or project.

5.4.3 Resignation or Termination

In the event of resignation or termination, employees will be provided with specific instructions regarding the return of company property during the exit process.

Employees should ensure that all company property is returned in good condition and in the same state as when it was issued, allowing for normal wear and tear.

5.4.4 Final Paycheck & Property Return

The return of company property will not impact the processing of an employee's final paycheck. Any deductions for unreturned or damaged property will be communicated to the employee separately.

5.4.5 Exceptions

In certain cases, employees may be allowed to retain specific items, such as company-issued apparel or promotional materials, after receiving written approval.

5.4.6 Non-Return of Company Property

Failure to return company property in a timely manner may result in the withholding of the final paycheck to cover the replacement cost of the unreturned items.

5.4.7 Confidential Information

Employees are reminded that the obligation to return company property also extends to any physical or digital documents, files, or data containing confidential or proprietary information. These must be securely returned or deleted as appropriate.
